Whats the Difference?

Garmin Forerunner 645 vs 645 Music
The Forerunner 645 music is a better smartwatch. It allows for onboard music storage.

Basically, the Forerunner 645 and 645 music are the same except that the music edition has the ability to store music onboard the watch. With the 645 Music, you can load music from popular music services such as Amazon Music, Deezer, and Spotify to the watch which you can listen to later offline via a Bluetooth headphone.

The 645 Music also features incidental fall detection that allows you to start a call on your phone when the watch detects a hard fall (Note that your phone must be nearby for fall detection to work).

As a result of onboard music capability and incidental fall detection, the 645 Music is priced higher than the standard 645 edition.

Beyond these few differences, these two are equipped to track your steps, calories, sleep, stress, heart rate, floors climbed, and many more. There is also an inbuilt GPS in these two that allows you to track your outdoor activities like routes, pace, and locations. Moreover, both the 645 and 645 Music are equipped with an NFC chip that enables Garmin Pay – a non-contactless payment system that allows you to easily make payments from the watch in supported countries. You will get up to 7 days of battery life with each of these two. The 645 Music however has a shorter battery life when music is played.

In other words, if you want onboard music storage which will allow you to listen to music without carrying your phone, the 645 Music is a better choice, while the 645 is a cheaper alternative with no onboard music storage capability.
