What’s the Difference?
Both the Galaxy Fit and Fit e spot the same appearance and each is equipped with a heart rate sensor and accelerometer that enables 24/7 heart rate monitoring, sleep tracking, steps and calorie counting. Both smartbands lack inbuilt GPS but can map your routes and locations when you carry your phone along.
You will need the Samsung Wearable app to setup and manage each of these two. And you will also need the Samsung Health app to view full details of tracked metrics like your sleep, heart rate, calories, steps and routes and locations recorded during an outdoor workout. Note that you must carry your phone along to track routes and locations during an outdoor workout. Both smartbands also come with 90 preloaded sports modes and can remind you to move if you sit idle for too long.
Both smartbands also have the same battery life of about 7 days. Although from my experience, I get about 5 days with the Galaxy Fit.
However, there are a few differences between the Galaxy Fit and Fit e which are stated below.
- The first difference you notice between these two is that the Galaxy Fit has a more colorful display. It has an AMOLED display compared to the monochrome PMOLED display of the Galaxy Fit e. The Galaxy Fit also has a slightly bigger display size than the Galaxy Fit e. In other words, you get to see more at a glance on the 0.95-inch display of the Galaxy Fit than on the 0.74-inch display of Fit e.
- Both smartbands will alert you via vibration when you receive messages on your smartphone. However, while you can reply to messages with quick replies on the Galaxy Fit, the Galaxy Fit e lacks the ability to reply to messages. The ability to reply to messages brings a lot of conveniences if you don’t always move around with your phone.
- As a result of the bigger and more colorful display and the ability to reply to messages, the Galaxy Fit is priced higher than the Galaxy Fit e.
Bottom line, the Galaxy Fit is a more equipped smartband than the Galaxy Fit e. It has a more colorful display and allows you to reply to messages.
On the other hand, the Galaxy Fit e is a cheaper alternative.
