Description
Garmin Fenix 7 Pro Solar Full Specifications – The Fenix 7 series is one of the most expensive Garmin watches, and that’s rightly because they are not just durably built but also boast a quantum number of activity tracking features plus a long battery life that lets you go multiple days from a single charge. The Fenix 7 comes in three sizes; 42mm (Fenix 7S), 47mm (Fenix 7) and 51mm (Fenix 7X), and each of these is available in different models.
The Fenix 7 comes in 6 different models which include
- Fenix 7 Standard
- Fenix 7 Solar (discontinued)
- Fenix 7 Sapphire Solar
- Fenix 7 Pro Solar
- Fenix 7 Pro Solar (no-Wi-Fi)
- Fenix 7 Pro Sapphire Solar.
The Pro models released in May 2023 are the latest models and the most advanced. All 6 models have the same design and features but the Pro models feature ECG, LED flashlight, higher storage capacity and as well have an ambient light sensor that auto regulates the brightness of the display.
Unlike the Fenix 7 Pro Sapphire, the Fenix 7 Pro Solar comes in two models, the Pro Solar with Wi-Fi and the Pro Solar without Wi-Fi. Both have the same design, storage capacity and features. However, the Fenix 7 Pro Solar has the new ECG app and music can be downloaded over Wi-Fi. Moreover, TopoActive maps, ski resorts and road/trail maps can be downloaded over Wi-Fi. In contrast, the Fenix 7 Pro Solar (no Wi-Fi) has 32GB storage but music cannot be downloaded from Spotify, Deezer or Amazon Music. Music can only be added from the Garmin Express desktop app. Moreover, additional maps cannot be downloaded from the Garmin Connect app over Wi-Fi, maps can only be downloaded via the Garmin Express app. The Fenix 7 Pro Solar (no Wi-Fi) also lacks the ECG app. Beyond these few differences, both the Pro Solar and Pro Solar (no-Wi-Fi) have the same features.
Both have durably built and sturdy designs, the frame is made of fiber-polymer material while the bezel and rear cover are stainless steel. Meanwhile, the straps which are interchangeable come in 22mm and are made of silicone. The display is protected by a durable Corning Gorilla Glass DX glass, and both watches are also rated 10ATM which means they can survive water pressure up to 100 meters, and as such safe to wear to the pool or ocean.
Both watches are also easy to operate, thanks to the touchscreen display and 5 physical buttons. Moreover, both the Fenix 7 Pro Solar and the no-Wi-Fi model are available in slate grey cases paired with black bands.
Like many other Garmin watches, the Fenix 7 Pro Solar has a 1.3 inches transflective MIP colored display that’s bright and easy to read even under direct sunlight. It is also equipped with an ambient light sensor that auto-regulates the brightness of the display. And like the other Pro models, the Fenix 7 Pro Solar and the no-Wi-Fi model also have an LED flashlight that can help illuminate dark spaces which can come in handy if you choose to train at night.
In the health and activity tracking department, the Fenix 7 Pro Solar and the no-Wi-Fi model are fully equipped to track all the ways you move. Though, only the Fenix 7 Pro Solar features the newly introduced ECG app that will allow you to take ECG tests directly from your wrist. Meanwhile, both watches will monitor your skin temperature for changes and as well can track your heart rate, sleep, stress, blood oxygen, and floors climbed.
The Fenix 7 Pro Solar also features training readiness which gives you an overview of your fitness level. You also get other health tracking features like Health snapshot, respiration and hydration tracking. And like other Pro models, the Fenix 7 Pro Solar and the no-wi-fi model support multi-band GPS that allows for increased accuracy in outdoor tracking, especially in difficult terrains. Both watches also come with preloaded TopoActive maps as well as road/trail and ski resort maps. You also get a long list of other activity tracking features as well as many sports profiles.
In the storage department, the Fenix 7 Pro Solar and the no-wi-fi model are both equipped with 32GB storage that will allow you to download music to the watch. Though while the Fenix 7 Pro Solar will allow you to download music from Spotify, Amazon Music and Deezer, the no-wi-fi model only allows music to be added through the Garmin Express app. Once music is downloaded to the watch, you can listen offline by connecting a Bluetooth headphone.
Managing notifications is also one of the functions of the Fenix 7 Pro Solar. When notification is enabled for your preferred apps, the watch will vibrate every time you get new messages and you will have the option to reply with preset quick replies (Android only). Moreover, images contained in messages can now be viewed on the watch.
As per the battery life, the Fenix 7 Pro Solar and the no-wi-fi model boast a monster battery life that will allow you to go long from a single charge. According to Garmin, you can get up to 18 days with both watches and when solar is activated it’s about 22 days.
