Google Pixel Watch 2 – Full Smartwatch Specifications – Google has announced the Pixel Watch 2 and it’s set to be released on the 12th of October 2023. The new watch succeeds the Pixel Watch and it ships with Wear OS 4 out of the box and comes with a superior CPU, more health and safety features and a longer battery life.

Unlike the Pixel Watch which has a stainless steel frame, the Pixel Watch 2 has a case made of aluminum while the screen is Corning Gorilla Glass 5. Meanwhile, the interchangeable straps are made of fluoroelastormer. The watch is rated 5ATM which makes it waterproof up to 50 meters.

Like its predecessor, the Pixel Watch 2 is available in polished silver, matte black, and champagne gold Colors.

Under the hood, the Pixel Watch 2 is powered by Snapdragon’s W5+ chip – A quad-core CPU that’s based on a 4nm process and boasts up to 1.7GHz in clock speed. This in addition to a 2GB of RAM will ensure a blazing fast performance on the Pixel Watch 2.

The W5+ chip is also accompanied by a 22nm co-processor that takes care of the always-on display mode and other low-task features. With the co-processor, Google claims the Pixel Watch 2 can last up to 24 hours with always-on enabled.

In the fitness tracking department, the Pixel Watch 2 like its predecessor can track your steps, calories, heart rate, blood oxygen, and ECG and features a decent number of preloaded sports modes.

Moreover, unlike its predecessor, the Pixel Watch 2 is equipped with a skin temperature sensor that enables it to track your skin temperature during sleep. It is also equipped with an EDA sensor that enables it to monitor your stress level.

Furthermore, the heart rate sensor in the Pixel Watch 2 packs 24 times more LEDs which according to Google ensures more accurate heart rate measurements and up to 45% more accurate heart rate measurement for vigorous exercises.

The Pixel Watch 2 also welcomes a new safety check app that will allow users to set a time they expect to arrive at a destination as well as set up emergency contacts. When the time elapses, the watch will prompt the user to confirm safe arrival at the destination. If the user is not responsive, the Pixel Watch 2 will send out the user’s location to the emergency contacts.

The Pixel Watch 2 also has a medical ID feature that will allow you to share your medical information with first responders during an emergency.

The Pixel Watch 2 is the first watch to ship with the stock Wear OS 4 out of the box. Wear OS 4 brings new apps, improved performance and more battery-efficient watch faces to Wear OS watches. Wear OS 4 will also come to the Pixel Watch in the future.

Like Its predecessor, the Pixel Watch 2 has a 32GB storage capacity that allows you to take your music and podcasts with you. It also has a microphone and speaker that enables the watch to make and receive calls. The LTE model can make and receive calls without a smartphone.

The LTE model is supported in United States. austrailia, Canada, France, Garmany, Japan, Taiwan and United Kingdom. The Supported carriers in the United States are AT&T, Google Fi, T-Mobile, Verizon, Cellcom, C Spire and US Cellular. Note that both your phone and the Pixel Watch 2 LTE must be on same network.

In the battery department, Google equipped the Pixel Watch 2 with a slightly bigger battery capacity. It comes with a 306mAh lithium-ion battery that boasts up to 24 hours of battery life with always-on enabled. Moreover, it takes less time to charge the Pixel Watch 2 – thanks to the fast charging technology.
