In this comparison chart, we compare two of Mobvoi’s smartwatches, the Ticwatch E vs E2 – These two Wear OS smartwatches are some of the most popular choices among fitness enthusiasts, both are moderately priced, yet of great quality. The Ticwatch E and E2 share a lot of features in common, however, the E2 is slimmer, has a higher waterproof rating, and has a slightly longer battery life than its predecessor. Meanwhile, the Ticwatch E unlike its predecessor, has a speaker and the Chinese version has an NFC chip for non-contactless payments. Which is the Difference?
Both the Ticwatch E and E2 come in a circular shape with a case made of polycarbonate and the straps come in silicone. The display sizes differ a little with the Ticwatch E2 having a slightly smaller 1.39 inches display size compared to the 1.4 inches of its predecessor. The display type also differs, while OLED powers the display of Ticwatch E, a more efficient AMOLED powers the display of Ticwatch E2.
When you look at the case size, while the Ticwatch E has a dimension of 44 x 44 x 13.5 mm, the Ticwatch E2 has a 46.9 x 52.2 x 12.9 mm dimension. In other words, while the Ticwatch E is more compact, the Ticwatch E2 is slimmer.
Furthermore, the Ticwatch E2 has a waterproof rating of 5ATM which is far higher than the IP68 rating of its predecessor. The 5ATM rating means that the Ticwatch E2 can survive submersion in water up to 50 meters compared to 1.5 meters of Ticwatch E.
The Ticwatch E2 is a smarter activity tracker and it can track your swimming activities like SWOLF, strokes and swim style which isn’t possible with the Ticwatch E.
Both watches have a 4GB storage capacity that allows you to load your favorite tracks onboard the watch which you can listen to via a Bluetooth headset. However, while there is a speaker and microphone built into the Ticwatch E, the Ticwatch E2 only has a microphone. This means that you can make and receive calls directly from the Ticwatch E but not possible with the E2.
Google Voice assistant is also present on both smartwatches as well as Google Maps and Google Fit, thanks to the Wear OS platform.
While an MTK chip powers the Ticwatch E, Snapdragon 2100 powers the Ticwatch E2. Nonetheless, there is no significant improvement in performance. Meanwhile, the Ticwatch E2 has a higher battery capacity than the Ticwatch E which results in longer battery life. You get about 2 days of battery life with the E2 and about a 24hrs+ with its predecessor.
Bottom line: The Ticwatch E2 with more act activity tracking features and longer battery life is a better smartwatch than its predecessor, the Ticwatch E.
On the other hand, the Ticwatch E is cheaper and it also has a speaker which is not present in its successor.
