The first Amazfit GTS smartwatch dropped in September 2019 and then followed the GTS 2 Mini, GTS 2e, GTS 3, and recently, the GTS 4 and 4 Mini. GTS 3 vs GTS 4 – What’s New?

The GTS 3 looks exactly like the GTS 4, however, there are a few differences which are listed below.

  • GTS 3 is slightly slimmer
  • Thanks to the aluminum alloy case, both the GTS 3 and 4 are not just compact but also very slim and lightweight. However, the GTS 3 at 8.8mm thick is slightly slimmer than GTS 4 which is 9.9mm thick. Moreover, at 24.4 grams, the GTS 3 weighs a little less than the 27 grams GTS 4.

    Like every other watch in the GTS lineup, both GTS 3 and 4 are rated 5ATM. As a result, will survive submersion in water up to 50 meters.

  • GTS 3 has a longer battery life

This is quite surprising considering that the GTS 2 supports music storage and can take calls. Meanwhile, the GTS 4 has a microphone and speaker that will allow you to answer a call and talk directly from the watch. You will be able to receive calls directly on the watch as long as your phone is nearby.

    Note that the GTS 3 also has a microphone that supports the Alexa voice assistant as well as an offline voice assistant. These features are also present in GTS 4.

  • One of the advanced features of the GTS 4, GTR 4 and T-rex series is dual-band GPS. The GTS 4 features dual-band GPS with support for 6 satellite systems. The GTS 3 and 4 also share very similar health-tracking features. Each of these two will track your steps, calories, sleep, heart rate, VO2 max, blood oxygen, and stress. These two also feature 154 sport modes with the ability to auto track select exercises.

The GTS 4 comes in two models; GTS 4 and GTS 4 Mini. These two look exactly the same however, the difference is that the GTS 4 Mini has a smaller display, lacks music storage, can’t take calls, and has lesser sports modes.   • GTS 4 Mini is more compact
  • Going by its name, the GTS 4 Mini is a smaller version of the GTS 4. While both watches are very compact, slim and lightweight, the GTS 4 Mini is more compact and slimmer than the GTS 4.

  • GTS 4 Mini has a smaller display
  • Furthermore, the GTS 4 Mini also has a slightly smaller display than the GTS 4. It has 1.65 inches compared to the 1.75 inches of the GTS 4. Both displays are powered by AMOLED with brightness up to 1000nits. You can read complications clearly on both screens except that the GTS 4 will allow you to see more at a glance.

  • Although the GTS 4 Mini has inbuilt GPS with support for 5 satellite systems, it lacks dual-band GPS support. The GTS 4 supports 6 satellite systems and supports dual-band GPS for improved location and route mapping accuracy. It will also allow you to import a route to the watch.

  • GTS 4 lacks fall detection

Lastly, while the GTS 4 Mini can’t detect falls, the GTS 4 can detect hard falls and will start a call to your preferred emergency contact.

From the differences mentioned above, you can see that while the GTS 4 Mini is a fantastic smartwatch, the GTS 4 has more features that no doubt makes it a more comprehensive smartwatch. This is why the GTS 4 Mini is priced alot lower than the higher-end GTS 4.

GTS 2 vs 3 – The Differences

Just in case you wondering what has changed over the years, we’ll take a look at the difference between the GTS 2 and 3. Note that there’s a new edition of GTS 2 called GTS 2 (New). The newer edition is exactly the same as the old edition except that it has more sports modes and is cheaper. This comparison is between GTS 2 (New) and GTS 3.

So let’s take a look at how the GTS 2 differs from the GTS 3.

  • GTS 3 is slimmer and has a 2D glass
  • The first difference you will probably notice between the GTS 2 and 3 is the glass design. While GTS 3 has a 2D glass design, GTS has a 3D glass design. Personally, I’m a fan of 2D design, the flat design is so majestical.

    Although both watches have cases made of aluminum alloy, the GTS 3 at 8.8mm thick is slightly slimmer than GTS 2 which is 9.7mm thick.

  • GTS 3 has a bigger and brighter display than GTS 2
  • Another difference between the GTS 2 and 3 is the display size and brightness. The GTS 3 spots a 1.75 inches display with up to 1000nits brightness. This is a little more than the 1.65 inches and 450nits brightness of GTS 2.

  • GTS 3 has more sports modes than GTS 2
  • Furthermore, while the GTS 2 boasts 90 sport modes with the ability to auto-track 6 exercises, the GTS 3 features 154 preloaded sport modes and can auto-track 8 exercises.

  • GTS 3 has a longer battery life than GTS 2
  • The GTS 3 also has a longer battery life than GTS 2. On mixed usage, it can last up to 12 days. This is far more than GTS 2 which has up to 6 days battery life. The older edition has up to 7 days.

  • GTS 3 lacks Bluetooth Calls and music storage

Surprisingly, Amazfit equipped the GTS 3 with about 3GB but you can’t store music on the watch. This storage is only used to download more apps and watch faces. The GTS 3 also lacks a speaker, as a result, you cannot take calls on the watch. It only has a microphone that supports Alexa voice assistant and the offline assistant feature.

Meanwhile, both the old and new editions of the GTS 2 will allow you to store music on the watch. You can also take calls when your phone is nearby.

The bottom line, the GTS 3 has a better display, longer battery life, and more sports modes. It however lacks music storage and Bluetooth Calls which are available in GTS 2.

GTS 2 vs GTS 2 Mini vs GTS 2e – The Differences

The GTS 2 series consists of the GTS 2, 2e and 2 Mini. These three have the same appearance and activity-tracking features except for slight differences which are listed below.

  • Display size
  • The Amazfit 2 and 2e have the same display size of 1.65 inches while the GTS 2 Mini has a smaller 1.5 inches display. All three have AMOLED-powered displays with brightness up to 450nits. Navigation is via touchscreen and a physical button.

  • Case size
  • As a result of being the most compact among the three watches, the GTS 2 Mini has the smallest case size. This explains why it has the least display size.

  • Sport modes
  • While the GTS 2 Mini features 68 sports modes, the GTS 2e (new) and GTS 2 (new) both feature 90 sports modes. The older editions of GTS 2 and 2e have just 22 sports modes.

One area where the GTS 2 wins over the GTS 2e and 2 Mini is that it supports onboard music storage and you can take calls directly on the watch. The GTS 2 Mini and 2e lack music storage and can’t take calls. Though, these two will be able to control music playing on your phone.

GTS 2 vs GTS New – The Differences

As mentioned earlier, there’s a newer edition of the GTS 2. It looks very much like the first edition. Both new and old editions have the same design and features. The only difference between the two is that GTS 2 (new) has more sports modes and is cheaper. It features 90 sports modes compared to 12 sports modes in the first edition.

GTS 2 Mini vs GTS 2 Mini New – The Differences

Just like GTS 2, there is also a new edition of GTS 2 Mini. It’s the same watch as the first edition of GTS 2 Mini. The only difference is the number of sports modes and price. The GTS 2 mink (new) has more sports modes and is cheaper.
