Amazfit GTS 4 vs T-rex Ultra vs GTR 4 vs Cheeter Pro – The Differences

Amazfit GTS 4 vs. T-rex Ultra vs. GTR 4 vs Cheeter Pro

Going by appearance, I’ll classify the GTS, GTR, T-rex and Cheeter series as sporty, classic, adventure and sporty/classic watches respectively. The GTS 4 has the same shape as the Apple Watch, while the GTR 4 takes the look of a classic watch. Meanwhile, the T-rex Ultra has the appearance of an adventure-focused watch, and on the other hand, the Cheeter Pro has a sporty/classic appearance.

Each of these four is equipped with the Biotracker 4.0 sensor which Amazfit claims collects 33% more data than the Biotracker 3.0. This sensor enables 24/7 heart rate, stress and blood oxygen monitoring.

Moreover, all four watches run on the same OS, Zepp 2.0. This is the latest operating system, it offers a refined user interface and features more apps than Zepp 1.0.

Furthermore, each of these four is equipped with Wi-Fi that will allow you to transfer music to the watch from the Zepp app. You can then listen to music offline via a Bluetooth headphone. Music streaming is not possible with any of the watches.

So, what’s the difference between the different watches? Lets find out?

  • Display
  • AMOLED powers the display of all four watches, however, the display sizes differ. The GTS 4 spots a 1.75-inches display, it’s 1.43, 1.39 and 1.45 inches for the GTR 4, T-rex Ultra and Cheeter Pro respectively. The display size might not be a big deciding factor considering that each of these three is easy to read, thanks to the very colorful always-on AMOLED display.

  • Design – T-rex Ultra and Cheeter Pro wins
  • Another differentiating factor is the design, you have a rectangular-shaped GTS 4 and a circular GTR 4, T-rex Ultra and Cheeter Pro. Beyond the shape, you have four watches that are durably designed to last long. However, the T-rex Ultra and Cheeter Pro have the most sophisticated design.

While the GTS 4 and GTR 4 have aluminum cases, the T-rex Ultra and Cheeter Pro have a case made of fiber polymer. The bezel material differ slightly, it is aluminum bezel for GTS 4 and GTR 4 while T-Rex Ultra has a stainless steel bezel and a more durable titanium material graces the bezel of Cheeter Pro. Taking it further, the T-Rex Ultra is certified MIL-STD-810G which makes it a more rugged watch – confirming its status as an outdoor-focused watch.

However, it’s bulkier and thicker than the other two. As a result, the T-rex Ultra weighs a lot more than the GTR 4, GTS 4 and Cheeter Pro. That’s to say that while the T-rex Ultra has one of the most durable design, it’s certainly not the most comfortable to wear.

The waterproof rating is also different of which T-rex Ultra has a 10ATM rating compared to the 5ATM of the other three. It can survive higher water pressure than the GTS 4, GTR 4 and Cheeter Pro. Nonetheless, each of these three can be worn while swimming in the pool.

  • Activity Tracking – T-rex Ultra wins
  • Like I mentioned earlier, each of these four comes equipped with a Biotracker 4.0 sensor that enables all-day tracking of your heart rate, calories, stress and blood oxygen. Each of these also has inbuilt GPS with support for 6 satellite systems that ensure wider coverage plus dual-band GPS support that ensures consistency and accuracy even in difficult terrains.

All four watches will also track advanced metrics like training load, training effect and VO2 Max. You even get a recovery time estimate. Moreover, you can share your data with services such as Adidas and Strava.

However, the T-rex Ultra being an outdoor focused watch has more features. It has 161 preloaded sports modes compared to 154 for GTS 4/GTR 4 and 156 for Cheeter Pro. It is also rated EN13319 & and ISO6245 and supports diving up to 30 meters. It has a dedicated diving sport app that will show the water temperature and depth. In other words, the T-rex Ultra is a dive watch.

Furthermore, while you can import your favorite routes to any of these four and get navigational guidance, the T-rex Ultra and Cheeter Pro also feature offline maps. You can download a map directly from the Zepp app to the watch and it will show your current location on the map.

As far as activity tracking is concerned, the T-rex Ultra has more features than GTS 4, GTR 4 and Cheeter Pro

  • Bluetooth Calls – GTS 4/GTR 4/Cheeter Pro wins
  • Although the T-rex Ultra has more activity tracking features, it lacks a microphone and speaker which are present in GTS 4, GTR 4 and Cheeter Pro. As a result, when there’s an incoming call, you will be able to answer and speak directly from any of these three.

  • Voice Assistants – GTS 4/GTR 4/Cheeter Pro wins
  • Since the T-rex Ultra doesn’t have a microphone, it also lacks voice assistant features. Meanwhile, the GTR 4, GTS 4 and Cheeter Pro feature Alexa as well as offline voice assistants.

  • Battery Life – T-rex Ultra wins
  • Thanks to its bigger case size, the T-rex Ultra has a bigger battery capacity which results in a longer battery life. In typical usage, it can go up to 20 days from a single charge. This is longer than 14 days with GTR 4/Cheeter Pro and 8 days with GTS 4.

In summary, while the T-rex Ultra doesn’t support Bluetooth calls and voice assistants, it has a more sophisticated build, longer battery life and more activity-tracking features. The Cheeter Pro also has a more durable build than GTS 4 and GTR 4.

GTS 4 vs GTS 4 Mini

GTS 4 vs GTS 4 Mini

Like the GTS 2, the GTS 4 comes in two models; GTS 4 and GTS 4 Mini. Both watches have similar designs and share lots of features in common. However, the GTS 4 Mini is a lower-end version and of course a cheaper alternative with a longer battery life. Let’s take a look at the differences.

  • GTS 4 Mini has a smaller display size and fewer watch faces
  • Going by its name, the GTS 4 Mini has a slightly smaller display size. It sports a 1.65-inches display compared to 1.75 inches of the GTS 4. Meanwhile, both watches are powered by AMOLED with brightness up to 1000nits.

Furthermore, while GTS 4 boasts over 200 watch faces including 30 animated watch faces, the GTS 4 Mini features 100 watch faces as well as 11 animated watch faces.

Although each of these two is very compact and lightweight, the GTS 4 Mini is slightly more compact and is 0.8mm slimmer than the GTS 4.

  • GTS 4 Mini lacks music storage
  • While the GTS 4 will allow you to store music onboard the watch, the GTS 4 Mini lacks music storage. It only supports music playback control. You can control music from the GTS 4 and you can also transfer music to the watch via the Zepp App which you can listen to offline.

  • GTS 4 Mini lacks Bluetooth Calls and voice assistant
  • The GTS 4 Mini also lacks a microphone and speaker which are both available on the GTS 4. This enables Bluetooth calls as well as voice assistant features.

With your phone nearby, you can answer calls directly on the GTS 4 and you also get access to Alexa and offline voice assistants.

  • GTS 4 Mini lacks dual-band GPS support
  • The GTS 4 Mini has inbuilt GPS but it only supports 5 satellite systems and lacks dual-band GPS. Meanwhile, the GTS 4 supports 6 satellite systems that ensure better coverage, and it also supports dual-band GPS that utilizes L1 and L5 signals to ensures consistency and accuracy even in difficult terrains.

  • GTS 4 Mini has fewer sports modes
  • While GTS 4 features 154 sports modes, GTS 4 Mini has 126 sports modes. Moreover, while the GTS 4 can auto-track 8 exercises, it’s 7 exercises with the 4 Mini.

  • GTS 4 Mini has a longer battery life
  • So far the GTS 4 has shown to be a more comprehensive smartwatch than the GTS 4 Mini, it however has a shorter battery life. Despite having a smaller battery capacity, the GTS 4 Mini can last up to 15 days in typical scenarios while it’s up to 8 days with the GTS 4.

The bottom line between the GTS 4 and 4 Mini is that the former has more features than the latter. It has a bigger display and more sports modes. It also features music storage, Bluetooth calls and voice assistants which are not available in GTS 4 Mini. Meanwhile, the GTS 4 Mini is a cheaper alternative with a longer battery life.

GTR 4 vs GTR Mini

GTR 4 vs GTR Mini

Before now, there has always been a Mini version of the GTS series, however, this is the first time Amazfit is releasing a mini version of the GTR series. The GTR 4 comes in two models; GTR 4 and GTR Mini. The latter is a lower-end version with a more durable build but fewer features.

The GTR 4 shares a lot in common with the GTR Mini, but the display size, build quality, activity and media features differ.

  • GTR Mini is more compact and slimmer with a stainless steel frame
  • Starting with the design, the GTR Mini has a stronger and more durable stainless steel frame while the GTR 4 like the GTS 4 has an aluminum frame. As a result of the stainless steel frame, the GTR Mini weighs a little more than the GTR 4 despite being more compact.

Going by its name, the 42.83mm GTR Mini is slightly more compact than the 46mm GTR 4. It’s also 1.35mm slimmer than GTR 4. Nonetheless, going by weight and size, these two are some of the most compact and slimmest watches. You shouldn’t have any problem wearing any of these all day long.

  • GTR Mini has a smaller display
  • The GTR Mini with its smaller case has a smaller display. It spots a 1.28 inches display which is smaller compared to 1.43 inches of GTR 4. Meanwhile, the display of both watches is powered by AMOLED and brightness is up to 1000 nits which means you shouldn’t have any problem reading complications on any of these two.

Moreover, the GTR 4 comes with 200+ watch faces including 30 animated watch faces. This is far more than 100 watch faces and 11 animated watch faces on GTR Mini.

  • GTR Mini lacks music storage
  • Just like the GTS 4 Mini, the GTR Mini lacks music storage. It will only allow you to control music on your phone. Meanwhile, the GTR 4 will allow you to store music onboard the watch. Music is transferred to the watch from the Zepp app via WiFi.

  • GTR Mini lacks Bluetooth calls and voice assistant
  • The GTR Mini also lacks a microphone and speaker. As a result, it lacks Bluetooth call functionality as well as voice assistant features. Meanwhile, with GTR 4, you can answer calls directly on the watch and you also get access to Alexa and offline voice assistants.

  • GTR Mini lacks dual-band GPS
  • While there’s inbuilt GPS in GTR Mini, it lacks dual-band GPS support which is present in GTR 4. Moreover, like GTS 4 Mini, the GTR Mini supports only 5 satellite systems while GTR 4 supports 6 satellite systems.

  • GTR Mini has fewer sports modes
  • Like the GTS 4, the GTR 4 features 154 sports modes and can auto-track 8 exercises. This is a little more than 126 preloaded sports modes on GTR Mini and it auto tracks only 7 exercises.

So in summary, the GTR 4 has a bigger display, music storage, supports Bluetooth calls, supports dual-band GPS and features more sports modes and watch faces while the GTR Mini is a cheaper alternative with a stronger build. Meanwhile, both watches will keep you going for up to 14 days.

Amazfit T-rex Ultra vs Falcon – Which is Better?

The Amazfit Falcon is a whole new model that was recently released. Of all Amazfit watches yet, it has the most sophisticated aesthetics that sets it apart as one of the very best watches. It shares very similar features with the T-rex Ultra but costs $100 more.

While the T-rex Ultra spots a polymer frame with a stainless steel bezel, the Falcon has a more durable all-around titanium build which results in it weighing a little less. Although, it’s slightly bulkier but 0.5mm slimmer.

Moreover, the Falcon has a higher waterproof rating. It can survive water pressure up to 200 meters compared to 100 meters of T-rex Ultra.

However, the T-rex Ultra has a longer battery life. It is also certified EN13319 & ISO6245 and has a dedicated diving sport app that shows water temperature and depth.
