Amazfit T-rex Utra vs Falcon – The Differences
- T-rex Ultra has a bigger display
- Falcon has a titanium build and a higher waterproof rating
- T-rex Ultra has a dedicated diving app
- T-rex has a longer battery life
- T-rex Ultra is equipped with Biotracker 4.0
- T-rex Ultra runs on Zepp 2.0
The first obvious difference between the T-rex Ultra and Falcon is the display size. Although both watches are powered by AMOLED with up to 1000nits in brightness, the T-rex Ultra has a 1.39 inches display while the Falcon has a 1.28 inches display.
Another difference between these two is the build quality. While the T-rex Ultra is a very sturdy and rugged watch, the Falcon has a more sophisticated build.
To confirm their ruggedness and durability each of these two is certified MIL-STD-810G. However, while the T-rex Ultra has a polymer case with a stainless steel bezel, the Falcon has a titanium case that also extends to its bezel. As a result, the Falcon weighs a little less than T-rex Ultra.
Moreover, while T-rex Ultra has a 10ATM rating, the Falcon is rated 20ATM. It, therefore, means that while each of these two is suitable for swimming, the Falcon will survive a higher water pressure of up to 200 meters.
Although the Falcon is rated 20ATM, it lacks a dedicated diving app. Meanwhile, you can dive up to 30 meters underwater with the T-rex Ultra, and it has a diving app that shows the water temperature and depth.
Although both watches have the same battery capacity, the T-rex Ultra has a longer battery life. In mixed usage, it will keep you going for up to 20 days meanwhile it’s up to 14 days with the Falcon.
Furthermore, the T-rex Ultra is equipped with a more advanced Biotracker 4.0 which Amazfit claims collects 33% more data. Although, there is no proof that this makes the sensor more accurate than the Biotracker 3.0 in the Falcon.
Finally, the T-rex Ultra runs on Zepp 2.0 which offers more apps and a more refined user interface than Zepp 1.0 that powers the Falcon. Fortunately, if this claim by a user on Reddit is true, Amazfit says it will upgrade the Falcone to Zepp 2.0 in future updates.
Similar Features – T-rex Ultra vs Falcon

- Activity Tracking Features
- Music Storage
- Notifications
Beyond the differences mentioned above, both Falcon and T-rex Ultra will automatically track your heart rate, stress and blood oxygen throughout the day. These two will also track your sleep in all four stages. You also get menstrual tracking for women on both watches.
Moreover, each of these two is equipped with a GNSS chip that supports 6 satellite systems. And for consistency and accuracy even in difficult terrains, the Falcon and T-rex Ultra utilizes both L1 and L5 signals. As a result, you can expect a high level of mapping accuracy from any of these two.
Furthermore, you can import your favorite routes from the Zepp app to these two watches, and you will get navigational guidance as you explore the route. Moreover, you can also download offline maps to the watch, this map when imported to the watch will assume your current location on the map as you explore the route.
Both T-rex Ultra and Falcon come with loads of preloaded sports modes. Although, the number of sports modes differs. It’s 159 and 162 for the Falcon and T-rex Ultra respectively.
Other activity tracking features include advanced metrics like VO2 Max, training effect, training load and recovery time. And you can also share your activity with third-party services like Adidas and Strava.
Although these two lack a microphone and speaker, and thus no support for Bluetooth calls. However, T-rex Ultra and Falcon support onboard music storage. These two are equipped with Wi-Fi which is used to transfer music from the Zepp app to the watch. You can then listen to music offline by connecting a Bluetooth headphone.
In the notifications department, both Falcon and T-rex Ultra will keep you connected so you don’t miss any updates. With your phone nearby and notifications enabled for your preferred apps, you will be able to receive and reply to messages with quick replies. You will also be able to receive incoming calls on both watches, and you will have the option to reject the call with quick replies.
Conclusion
In conclusion, between the Falcon and T-rex Ultra is a choice between design and battery life. If you want that prestigious aesthetics just like Galaxy Watch 5 Pro and Apple Watch Ultra, the Falcon is a fantastic choice with a decent 2 weeks battery life. Though it will cost you $100 more.
If you prefer longer battery life, a bigger display and a dedicated diving app, the T-rex Ultra is a cheaper alternative, yet very rugged and loaded.
